Precautions Before And After Laser Treatment

• Avoid plucking, waxing or bleaching hair for 4-6 weeks prior to treatment
• Please shave the area to be treated the day or night before your appointment
• Keep the treatment area clean and dry prior to treatment and avoid using creams and perfumed products
• Try to avoid the sun and sunbed exposure 4-6 weeks before and after any treatment

During the procedure

Safety considerations are important during the laser procedure. Protective eyewear will be worn by the patient and all personnel in the laser room during the procedure to reduce the chance of damage to the retina. A SmartCool chilled-air cooling device will be used with laser to minimise epidermal (skin) damage and provide patient comfort.

Post-operative Skin Care

• Apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel to the treated area to keep your skin moist and always pat dry the area avoiding any scrubbing.
• Immediately after treatment stay away from sports or strenuous exercises for 2-3 days.
• Avoid very hot baths, showers, saunas and steam baths. Also refrain from swimming in strong chlorinated water for 2-3 days
• Do not use any bleaching creams or perfumed products for 24-48 hours and avoid exfoliating or peels for at least 1 week. Wear loose comfortable clothing as tight clothing will irritate your skin.
